BOY (Male, 6–9 years)
Smart, curious and a little mischievous. Someone who is always pulling at the strings of things. Young enough that nothing is set in stone for them, their default question is ‘why?’ and they’re always seeing things from alternate angles. Across the film, the Son spans the emotional spectrum – from being sweet and wild to crestfallen and heartbroken as well as steadfast. We want to find a protagonist who has this range and then some.
SISTER (Female, 13–16 years)
The sister is at that wonderful age where they don’t really care. Just past being a sullen teen, they’re finally growing into the age where they’re actually almost cool. They’re getting into good music, growing a bit of a personality, and realising that their brother isn’t the most annoying person of all time, but actually a cool lil dude.
