We are currently searching for a female lead character aged 18+, with a playing age of 16-17 to perform in the Opening Ceremony of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. This will be a featured speaking role, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform in front of 30,000 spectators and a global TV audience of over one billion people.
The lead character will be a confident dancer and be comfortable working at height and/or have experience of aerial work. Rehearsals and the Opening Ceremony will take place at Birmingham’s newly redeveloped Alexander Stadium and so you should be comfortable to perform across unusual spaces and handling the demands of non-traditional stages and performance settings.
If interested, an audition session will take place at 1.30pm-4.30pm on Wednesday 2nd March 2022 within Birmingham (venue address will be provided if interested & available).
Following this, rehearsals will commence from 28th May – 28th July, with the Opening Ceremony on 28th July. (Rehearsal schedule to be discussed at the audition stage).
